Sept 17, 2007: Lunch Forum Series on Corporate Governance (Namhla Thina Siwendu)

The Lunch Forum on Corporate Governance Series focuses on key current issues in corporate governance and bring to Yale distinguished managers, regulators, lawyers, and other practitioners  of corporate governance to provide the SOM and larger Yale communities with their insights.

The Fall 2007 Series Speakers include:

Roel Campos, Commissioner of the U.S Securities & Exchange Commission; Nancy Zucker Boswell, President & CEO of TI-USA, US Chapter of Transparency International (co-sponsored by PONPO); and Namhla Thina Siwendu, Founding Partner of Siwendu & Partners, Inc.

Namhla Thina Siwendul speaks on "Giving Corporate Governance a Human Face : Challenges and Opportunities for Directors in South Africa"

Thina is the founding partner of Siwendu & Partners Inc, a South African law firm with offices in Durban and Johannesburg. She heads the firm’s Corporate Governance and Corporate Law Division and is the chairman of the firm’s Property Law division, Siwendu GHP. She is a visiting Research Fellow for the year at the recently launched Unit for Corporate Governance in Africa, a unit of the University of Stellenbosch Business School, CapeTown.

Thina has until 2006 served as a member of the KwaZulu Natal Law Society Special Complaints Committee as well as an Examiner for the Attorney’s Admission Board Examination, appointed by the Judge President of the High Court, KwaZulu Natal.
