October 19-20, 2007: Shareholders and Corporate Governance

Shareholders and Corporate Governance, a joint conference with the Said Business School of Oxford University took place on October 19-20, 2007. This conference examined how differing law and regulation in the US and UK affect the incentives and abilities, especially of institutional investors, to engage in active corporate governance, and whether those differences impact corporate performance. This conference is one of a series of research projects and conferences to carry forward the Center's goal of ultimately suggesting private sector and regulatory initiatives geared towards achieving the corporation's highest potential for performance, including the advancement of social welfare. A global call for papers was issued soliciting papers from the world’s leading scholars on corporate governance.
