November 15-17, 2007: International Conference on Corporate Governance in Emerging Markets
International Conference on Corporate Governance in Emerging Markets, a joint effort among the Global Corporate Governance Forum, Asian Institute of Corporate Governance, along with the Millstein Center, European Corporate Governance Institute, International Corporate Governance Network, and Corporate Governance Forum of Turkey, took place in Istanbul, Turkey on November 16-17, 2007. This event brought together researchers investigating the impact of corporate governance on emerging markets’ firms performance and economic development in general and the roles of legal, economic and political institutions in determining corporate governance systems. This event, with research being organized by the Center’s Stijn Claessens, would be very prominent among developing nation organizations and recognizes the Center’s interests in this area. A global call for papers has been recently issued.
